VTC fleets in Albacete: three airports to choose from, the Los Llanos high-speed station, the ten days of the fair, and how the fleet's jobs are assigned and paid

Albacete is the province of three airports: Valencia from the capital and La Manchuela, Alicante from Almansa and Hellín, Murcia from the south, and Barajas only for those flying from there. For a fleet that means cars in the capital — the Los Llanos high-speed station, the General Hospital, the fair — and one or two in Hellín and the Almansa corridor, where the east-coast airport runs start. Each booked job enters the fleet's panel with its amount, is assigned to a car and the customer pays by card: the money reaches the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the published commission separated. Albacete to Alicante airport is 175 km; Almansa to Alicante, 104 km; Hellín to Los Llanos station, 64 km.

Where should the cars be in the province of Albacete?

In three places. The capital concentrates the repeat work: connections with Albacete-Los Llanos station from La Roda, Tarazona, Chinchilla and the Llanos villages, General Hospital appointments with a wait, and the fairground in September. The Almansa and Caudete corridor looks to Alicante: its airport is closer than Madrid, and from there the long holiday and business transfers to El Altet depart. The Campos de Hellín and Tobarra look to Murcia and also to Alicante, with Hellín's district hospital and referrals to the capital. Villarrobledo and the Mancha del Júcar, to the north, split between the Albacete and Villarrobledo high-speed stations and the district hospital appointments.

The reference figures are the engine's and the ones the customer sees: Albacete to Alicante airport, 175 km and about 139 min, from 226,00 €; Albacete to Valencia airport, 163 km from 209,92 €; Almansa to Alicante, 104 km and about 91 min; Hellín to Los Llanos station, 64 km from 91,25 €; La Roda to the General Hospital, 41 km. An airport run from the capital takes half a day; a high-speed connection, under an hour, and it chains.

What happens during the Albacete fair?

From 7 to 17 September the city pours into the fairground, closed to traffic, and towns from all over the province come and go at every hour: it is the time of year with the most jobs in the fewest days, and the one most worth preparing for. Jobs arrive with the pickup point outside the closure the town hall allows, many returns are in the small hours and the price is the one fixed at booking, with no fair surcharge. A fleet can concentrate cars in the capital that week and share night shifts among its drivers, which is what a lone self-employed driver cannot do. The fair guide explains how to get around on those days from the customer's side.

How does a job enter the panel, and how is it assigned?

The customer books at a fixed price and the job enters the zone's queue. The fleet sees it in its partner panel with the amount it will be paid and accepts it for one of its cars, assigning it to a specific driver or letting the first free one of its own take it; the driver carries it in the app — navigation, states, trip sheet generated before departure — and the fleet sees the status of all its jobs, which car is on each and what is unassigned. Airport and high-speed jobs carry the flight or train and the app follows delays; hospital jobs say whether there is a wait and return.

The network's three rules are not negotiable: the fixed price agreed with the customer is what is charged, with no on-board surcharges; the pickup time is the one paid for, with the published courtesy wait; and no car solicits at the station or airport taxi ranks or on the street, because the service is always pre-booked. A fleet that misses a pickup without warning loses priority, and the customer, who has paid in advance, is served by another car.

How does the fleet get paid, and what about jobs to another region?

Into its own bank account: the customer pays by card when booking and the amount lands in the fleet's Stripe Connect account with the published commission — 15% of each job — separated in the same movement; cash collected on board belongs to the fleet and is deducted from the next settlement. Every Monday the weekly summary arrives with every job, its amount, the commission and the tips, which belong to the drivers and carry no commission. Non-payment is not the fleet's risk: the job performed is settled even if the customer does not show, and late cancellations are paid under the published policy.

Jobs ending in Alicante, Valencia or Murcia are legal under a Castilla-La Mancha authorisation because the origin is in the province; what does not fit is stationing cars for jobs originating in the Valencian Community or Murcia beyond the share the ROTT allows, and the Valencian Community requires its own register from anyone operating with origin there. The return with a customer coming back to Albacete from El Altet is a job ending in the province and is booked as such. Anyone who prefers to keep their own customers and prices has the other formula, the platform as a tool for a fee per licence per month, which the fleets page explains and which is not on sale yet.

What does the fleet-management software do, and how do you start?

It keeps what usually lives in a spreadsheet: expiry dates for each car and driver (roadworthiness test, insurance, authorisation, transport card, licence), expenses per vehicle (fuel, maintenance, AP-7 tolls on the east-coast airport runs, parking), the kilometres — many, in a province of distant airports — claims, income from every platform the fleet works with and the split with each driver according to their agreement. It warns before anything expires and produces the month's result per car. It is included for partner fleets and those in the partners network; a fleet that does not work with the platform can subscribe on its own, by the month. Joining requires valid VTC authorisations in the fleet's name, passenger insurance, the roadworthiness test and registration document for each vehicle and the drivers' licences; the platform checks them, watches the expiry dates and generates the trip sheet and the register filing before each job. The application is sent from the fleets page or the partners and operators page with the number of authorisations and the areas.

Frequently asked questions

How many cars should a fleet keep in Hellín or Almansa?

Nobody can fix that in advance: it depends on the jobs arriving from each district, which the panel shows. The fleet software produces the result per car and month, which is the figure to decide with.

Is the fleet paid into its own account or the platform's?

Its own, through Stripe Connect: the amount lands with the published commission separated in the same movement, and on Monday the weekly summary arrives trip by trip.

Can a fleet car pick up at Alicante airport?

Yes, a customer with a prior booking returning to Albacete: it is a pre-booked job ending in the province. It may not solicit at the terminal or station cars for jobs originating in the Valencian Community.

How much is Albacete to Alicante airport, the typical long transfer?

175 km and about 139 min, from 226,00 € according to the route engine; it is the price the customer sees and on which the commission is calculated.

The published commission, courtesy waiting time and cancellation policy are the panel settings when the page is opened. Kilometre, minute and price figures come from the route engine; none of this promises a volume of jobs.
